From a Tiny Food Stall in Sydney to a Global Vision
The story of Ken-chan Curry began at a small food stall at a JAPAN Festival in Sydney, Australia.
In our hands, we held nothing but a single pot of curry — and a burning ambition for the future.
With the simple dream of “surprising the world with Japanese curry,” we stepped into an unknown land.
Little by little, our flavor began to win hearts.
From street vending in Chatswood to a permanent store in Chinatown, then expanding to places like Neutral Bay and Newtown.
Our passion eventually reached Japan, where we opened a small 6-seat counter restaurant in Nakano, Tokyo.
But it wasn’t smooth sailing — for days, no customers came. We spent every moment reflecting: What are we missing?
Still, we never gave up. We believed in the value of our curry, and we poured our heart into every plate.
That belief led us back abroad — to more cities in Australia, to Malaysia, and back again to Tokyo.
And now, our sights are set higher: toward a bold vision of 3,000 stores around the world.

2019年4月 / April 2019

ChatswoodのMandarin Centreにてラーメン専門店「Fujiyama Noodle Bar」を開業。Ken-chan Curryの前身として始動。

Opened a ramen specialty store at Mandarin Centre, Chatswood. This marked the foundation of what would become Ken-chan Curry.

2019年5月 / May 2019

シドニーの路面マーケットで「Ken-chan Curry」名義のフード屋台を初出店。

Launched Ken-chan Curry as a food stall in the vibrant street market scene of Chatswood, Sydney.

2019

2019年11月 / Nov 2019

Sussex Centreのフードコートに初のフルタイム店舗を開店。

Expanded to a permanent shop in the food court of Sussex Centre, Haymarket.

2020

2020年12月 / Dec 2020

シドニーでの成功を経て、日本・東京の中野にカウンター6席の「Ken-chan Curry」をオープン。

After success in Australia, Ken-chan Curry opened a 6-seat restaurant in Nakano, Tokyo—bringing the brand back home.

2021

2021年4月 / Apr 2021

クラウドキッチン形式で、日本各地にKen-chan Curryを届ける新事業を開始。

Began a new franchise model via cloud kitchens, expanding reach across Japan.

2022

2022年2月 / Feb 2022

シドニー北部エリアにてKen-chan Curryのフルサービス店舗を開店。

Opened a dine-in location in Sydney’s Northern suburb, Neutral Bay.

2025

2025年7月 / July 2025

ドニー・インナーウェストのトレンドエリアNewtownに新店舗開業。

Launched a new branch in the trendy inner-west suburb of Newtown, Sydney.

2025年11月(予定) / Nov 2025 (Planned)

ショッピングセンター「Rhodes Waterside」に新たな店舗をオープン予定。

A new outlet is scheduled to open in the food court of Rhodes Waterside.
